Georgetown in South Seattle is a unique neighborhood in that it is surrounded on all sides by either industrial areas or major transportation hubs (Interstate 5 and King County Airport). Georgetown is one of the oldest, if not the oldest neighborhood in Seattle as some of the first settlers in the area built the first structures and community there. There is a large amount of businesses and industries in Georgetown making it one of the more “urban” feeling neighborhoods in Seattle. Georgetown has become one of the new hip neighborhoods in Seattle due to its reasonable priced housing, close proximity to downtown and growing restaurant/bar scene.
The housing options in Georgetown include modest single family homes along with a number of townhouses. There have been a number of new construction townhouses that have sprung up in place of houses in the last two years and it’s an area to expect that to continue as land values allow for it. Townhouses typically will start around $350k in Georgetown and single family homes around $375k and up.
