FIRST HILL | Central Seattle Neighborhoods
First Hill was one of the original neighborhoods in Seattle to be settled and occupied as the city grew and developed. Its location adjacent to downtown and south of Capitol Hill makes it one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in the city. First Hill now has the nickname of “Pill Hill” due to the large number of hospitals and medical facilities that can be found in there. The main business area on First Hill lies along Madison Street from Boren towards its intersection with Broadway. Housing in First Hill is primarily mid to high rise condo’s, apartments and a limited number of single family homes with price points starting around $300k for a condo and $700k for the rare single family homes.
