The Bryn Mawr neighborhood is half of the Skyway census area at the southern tip of Seattle where it borders the city of Renton. Bryn Mawr is unique to Seattle, and the entire state of Washington, in that it is the only neighborhood that as of the 2010 census whose minority population represented the largest ethnic group in the area. Bryn Mawr and Skyway are part of unincorporated King County and while considered part of Seattle location wise, do not receive services from the city. There is no business district inside Bryn Mawr but the borders of the neighborhood with Rainier Avenue and Renton Avenue have a number of shops and restaurants along them. Bryn Mawr is considered one of the most affordable areas in close proximity to downtown Seattle with single family homes starting around $200k.
