This small residential neighborhood in North East Seattle is centered around the 22 acre Matthews Beach Park on the shores of Lake Washington. Much like many other neighborhoods in the area, Matthews Beach grew around the northern expansion along Lake City Way and the Seattle, Lakeshore and Eastern Railway line which later became the Burke-Gilman Trail in the late 1970’s. Matthews Beach has no central business district in the neighborhood itself although nearby Wedgwood and Meadowbrook offer those options. Housing in Matthews Beach is exclusively single family homes with price points ranging from $450k on the low end to the low $1m range for newer properties and above $1.5m for those with waterfront.
